Why we built it
Why is the back of every smartphone wasted?
Phones are powerful. They are also the biggest source of distraction most of us carry. The screen on the front is built to pull attention in. The back is just glass, sitting against the table.
We built Reetle to put something there worth your attention. A 3.97-inch E-Ink screen with its own battery. One tap on it records a meeting before the thought is gone (the only physical button is power). Sync to the app and it transcribes, summarises, and pulls the to-do list out of what was said. You can read a chapter on the way home. Your phone never has to unlock.
We built Reetle so people could record, read, and capture without unlocking the front.
The Reetle Founding Team
The name
Reading meets beetle. So, Reetle.
The first half of the name comes from what the hub is for: reading, recording, and capturing the things you want to keep. The second half is the tough shell that wraps your phone, the way a beetle's shell protects what's underneath. Tempered glass, layered buffer, recessed screen. A hub that is light in the hand and impossible to knock off in the bag.
The product is small. The promise is small too. It is not here to change your life. It is here to take the notes, hold the reading, and carry the day's plan on the back of your phone.
